But HOW?

The WHY:
For the past two years I have heard the following remarks over and over: "How can you afford to travel so much?" "I want to travel but I dont know how!""Can you teach me?"

It's no secret that teachers are not paid what they are worth. We live in a time period where educators are forced to work additional jobs just to make the ends meet. In a year full of buying your own supplies, paying student loans, and stretching a dollar for as long as you can, traveling is pretty much an afterthought. I had this mentality for years until I realized that you dont have to be Beyonce or Lebron James to get your travel on. Traveling is really not as expensive as people make it out to be. I realized this after planning my first trip. Since then I have traveled throughout the United States, marking destination after destination off of my bucket list.

Whenever I return to work and speak of my adventures I am hit with BUT HOW?!?! And it that sentiment that led me to create this blog. I wanted to show that traveling, on a budget, is not as hard as it may seem.

The WHAT:

This blog is for those who have champagne taste on beer budgets. With each entry I will share information about the destination, where I stayed, food spots and activities.

The WHO:

I'm a 37 year old educator and divorced mom of 2. I have been a teacher for 14 years through the grace of God and the love of my students. I can honestly say that I have always been in love with the notion of traveling. Even when I was a child I longed to visit various places with my family. We took a yearly vacation to Disney World and while that may have been some child's fantasy vacation, it wasnt mine. I longed to leave the state of Florida and visit other states and countries. Half way into my teaching journey I realized that I would never be a millionaire lol If I wanted something from life, I would have to step out and get it. And thus the travel diaries were created. I wanted to see Philadelphia ... I wanted to gamble in Vegas ... I wanted to walk along Times Square. Since I began this journey I have visited 20 states and 3 countries. Join me as I continue this journey
